How Has The Internet Changed In Ten Years

There is a lot of debate about when the internet was created. The internet started around the late 50′s and early 60′s. It was developed to interlink computer networks to share files and protocols. Email was one of the main applications used on the internet. It was a means for officials to easily communicate with each other.

The internet was mainly used for governmental purposes in its early days, and in fact, the internet was a government funded project. The first user friendly web browser was invented by Netscape Corp. around 1994, however, Delphi was the first company to bring commercial internet to its subscribers a couple years prior.

The early days of the internet consisted mostly of company run websites. Social websites and user generated content did not completely manifest itself until the Web2.0 update.

After the Web2.0 update, social networking sites, such as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, and LinkedIn were allowed to use the web to its full capabilities.

The update also provided the web larger hosting servers for faster download and upload speed. The Web2.0 update also allows users to share their online presence to many sites and link them all together to share the same information.

Privacy was becoming an issue with the web2.0 update, so privacy policies were updated with many social media sites to protect users.

It will be exciting to see what the future holds for the internet. Social networking will be used to its full potential, and new ways to share information will be invented. Even offline applications will allow users to share information on the internet.
